The Project
Phase II of Fosterage.org means putting our Vision into reality. If you already read our manifesto, you know what it is all about.
Two teams (at least) need to be in place. A local team (on a rich country) that would coordinate remote teams and the teaching teams sent to remote poor countries. This team would also be responsible for selecting the cities, neighbours and addresses more suited to received the unwanted persuasion mailings.
These mailing would be sent on a regular basis and would be totally costume made to the address in question in a sense that each child in need would be assigned always to the same address on the rich country.
The teams on the remote countries would be closely working with the already established local organizations that already do children sponsoring given them human resources, money and knowledge to take much more photos and operate our database entering the data needed.
These organizations already have a vast local experience we would be very happy to make use of. And they already take send feedback to the already sponsored children. We just need to go a great step further and have daily and massive photos being tagged and uploaded everyday. And it could means a lot of increase in work from the 500 or 1000 actual children they already have to 5 or 10 thousand that we want to reach.
Our ideal is to serve as a plug-in for them. We would be more than happy to use all their rules in terms, for instance of sponsored children direct contacts or where money is used. That’s not our task.
On Phase II kick-start, we'll create a task force to analyze several places in need in order to decide where we'll go first. The task force will also decide on the type of equipment resources and logistics needed.
We can, however, tell you upfront our impression we would mainly need founds for: - Team displacements, food and accommodation. - Photographic equipment and internet access.
The goal of our in loco team is formation. Besides formation to the already there teams from other organizations (the ones we reached agreement with), we'll try to recruit and inform local people to the importance of our mission and make them understand how their effort can be translated into true improvement on their children daily life.
